Citrus Music Department and Azusa Pacific University Each year, Citrus’ Blue Note Orchestra and APU’s Jazz Ensemble “battle” to out-do, one-up, and triumph over their “rivals” – and each year, the winner is the audience! Actually, bandleaders Robert Slack and Dave Beatty are good friends, and their joint quest to inspire musical excellence has resulted in national prominence for the on-stage competitors. This “battle” is actually a celebration that no big band, jazz, or music lover should miss. Get your seats early – this year’s Round 10 is sure to be a knockout!
