TEA FOR THREE Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2PM Particularly pertinent in this era of contentious politics, this humorous and poignant one-woman play reveals life and love in the White House with a behind-the-scenes look at three remarkable first ladies from both sides of the aisle: Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, and Betty Ford. Elaine Bromka, with 30 years in film, television, and Broadway, starred as eight First Ladies opposite Rich Little in the PBS show The Presidents. Intrigued by their stories, she went on with playwright Eric H. Weinberger to create eighty-five minutes of heartwarming delight. This deeply touching play reveals the personal cost of what Pat Nixon called "the hardest unpaid job in the world." Please join us on the west patio after the performance for afternoon tea. |
