The esteemed Russian National Ballet Theatre performs one of the most magical and well-known works from the classical ballet repertoire. This beloved fantasy ballet is inspired by the German legend of Odette, a beautiful princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. With majestic choreography by Petipa, the lush score by Tchaikovsky, and mesmerizing costumes and sets, it is easy to see why Swan Lake has earned the adoration of classical ballet enthusiasts for 135 years and continues to attract newcomers to this magnificent art form. The 50-member Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in 1994 by Elena Radchenko, legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, and is dedicated to preserving the grand ballet traditions while nurturing young dancers throughout Russia. |
