High-energy, eclectic, born and raised east of the Los Angeles River, Las Cafeteras crosses musical borders, reinvigorating roots music of Latinidad with a modern twist. Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments like the jarana, requinto, quijada (donkey jawbone) and tarima (a wooden platform), Las Cafeteras sing in English, Spanish, and Spanglish, melding styles from rock to hip-hop to rancheras. Known for their energetic live performances, the artists use music as a vehicle to build bridges among diverse cultures and communities to create “a world where many worlds fit.”
