Thirteen years ago, a thirty-year old man walked into a one-room Amish schoolhouse and opened fire, killing 5 girls and himself. In a decision that shocked the world, the people in this close-knit community forgave his crime and offered aid to his grieving widow. The Amish Project (Ensemble) is a fictional exploration based on true events surrounding the Nickel Mines school-house shooting that took place in an Amish community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake.
